John T. Logan

John graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1977 and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oregon State University in 1983.  After passing the CPA exam and working for six years in KPMG Peat Marwick’s Audit department, John joined his Mom, Avis, at Logan General Tax Practice in 1989.  Avis Logan had previously worked for the IRS and was an Enrolled Agent when she started the tax-preparation business in 1983.

Avis retired in 1999 and John has been the owner since 2010.  He is very active in the community and routinely gives seminars on personal taxation.  John has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska Southeast teaching individual income tax.  He has served on several local non-profit boards.

2023 will mark our firm’s 40^th year serving Southeast Alaska.  We now serve clients all over Alaska and the lower 48.  We have a well-established client base, with many of our clients being second-generation as their families have been with us since Avis started the firm.
