Finalizing Your eContent Code

To include eContent on your website, you must add the eContent code to your website code. You also must upload all supporting files, such as JavaScript code, image files, and the license key, to your site directory. The Finalize page in the Site Builder wizard provides a way for you to quickly copy the eContent code and download these supporting files.

To copy the eContent code and download the supporting files, do the following:

  1. Click Finalize Site on any Site Builder wizard window.
  2. Click Download eContent Files to download a ZIP file containing the additional folders and files, such as the license key, that must be uploaded to your site.

Note: You can click the View your site link at any time to preview your site.

  3. Select either ClosedAdvanced or Simple (Iframe) to indicate the amount of flexibility you want in placing eContent on your site.
    • If you select Advanced, you can copy and paste the code for individual pieces of eContent separately. This option gives you maximum flexibility in organizing eContent on your website.
    • If you select Simple (Iframe), all of the content for a particular eContent category (Calculators, eNewsletters, File Share, Info Center, or Newsletters) will display together on one page. You cannot separate individual pieces of content within a category.

Example: You have selected to include the following Info Center eContent items on your site: the Tax Events Calendar, the Client Tax OrganizerA tool used to gather information from clients in preparation for creating their tax returns., and the Financial Planning ToolkitA collection of financial planning documents, calculators, and other tools that can help clients make financial decisions..

    • If you select Advanced, you can copy the code for each of three Info Center eContent items independently. Using this option, you could place the Tax Events Calendar on one page of your site, the Client Tax Organizer on another page, and the Financial Planning Toolkit on a third page.
    • If you select Simple, you can place the Info Center code on any page of your site, but the three Info Center items must be displayed together on a single page. They cannot be separated.
  4. To select code snippets for specific types of eContent to include on your website, do the following:
    1. In the Snippets list, select the type of eContent you want to include on your site. The code snippet for the selected eContent displays in the Instructions box to the right of the navigation bar.
    2. In the Instructions box, select the code snippet, and then press Ctrl + C to place the code on your clipboard.
    3. Paste the copied code into the code for the web page where you want the eContent to appear.
    4. Note: You can include the JavaScript code for eContent in the header of a page. However, it is not necessary that you do so. The JavaScript will work correctly if inserted as part of the page body.

  5. Repeat steps a through c as needed until the code for each type of eContent has been inserted into your website code.
  6. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file to the root directory of your website.
