Bernie graduated from Emory University in December, 1973 with a BBA in Business. He was employed with Deloitte & Touche from graduation until December, 1977 at which time he started Bernard N. Ackerman, CPA, P.A. Bernie has been a certified public accountant in South Carolina since January, 1976 and in North Carolina since November, 1977. In addition to being a CPA, Bernie is also a certified financial planner and a certified financial specialist - a designation awarded by the American Institute of CPA's. Bernie has served as president of the Rock Hill Rotary Club, treasurer of the Rock Hill United Way as well as treasurer for the Board of the Museum of York County. He currently is treasurer of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Board of SCB&T Of The Piedmont. Bernie and his wife Teri live in Fort Mill, SC and have two sons, Jason and Adam.

Pam graduated Magna Cum Laude from Winthrop University in 1981. Practicing in public accounting her entire career, she has been with this firm since 1983. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Carolina Association of CPA's, Accounting Careers Committee, South Carolina Medical Group Managers Association, and the Physician's Viewpoint Network. Pam lives in Clover, SC with her husband, Franklin, and their three children, George, Ginny, and Ben. She is a member of Clover First Baptist Church where she teaches preschool Sunday School. Pam enjoys family activities and cooking.

She is a certified public accountant with membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She was employed with KPMG Peat Marwick as a supervising auditor prior to joining Bernard N. Ackerman, CPA, P.A. Since then, she has been preparing individual and corporate tax returns concentrating in the medical and dental areas. Currently, she serves on the Rock Hill School District Foundation board. She and her husband, Steve, live in Rock Hill, SC and are members of Forest Hill Church. They have a son and a daughter, Tyler and Katie.

Cathy is currently one of two BNA, CPA Cyber- Accountants, working out of the Golden Corner's area of South Carolina. She has been with the firm since 1989, working with both corporate and individual clients. Cathy completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and is a member of the AICPA, NCACPA and SCACPA. She is a volunteer at Oconee Memorial Hospital and is an Officer/Director of her community POA.

Linda serves as treasurer of the Winthrop University Alumni Association and also serves on the University's Foundation Board. She also has twelve years of industry experience in various accounting and finance areas of Duke Energy Corporation. She and her husband, Bob, live in Rock Hill with their cat, Lucy. She is a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She serves as treasurer of the Early Learning Partnership and on the board of the Children's Attention Home and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She has also served as treasurer of the Rock Hill Area Council of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Welfare League, and as chairman of an Advisory Board of the Upper Palmetto YMCA.

Katherine graduated Cum Laude from Winthrop University in May 1994 with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. She is a certified public accountant with membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Katherine worked for the firm for almost 3 years before leaving in July 1996 to work for the State of South Carolina's Auditor's Office. She returned to the firm in December 1997 where she specializes in trust and estate taxation while also preparing corporate and partnership tax returns. She is a past-chair of both the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership York County and Youth Leadership York County planning councils. She continues to serve as a member of the Leadership York County planning council. Katherine is originally from Conway, SC, but has lived in Rock Hill since 1990.

He previously worked in New York for KPMG for 3 years before joining the firm in October 2012. He is a licensed CPA in New York & South Carolina and a member of the AICPA. Jason is currently the treasurer of the Fort Mill History Museum.

Melanie is a 1983 graduate of Winthrop University and holds a BS in Business Administration with a Public Accounting emphasis. She joined our firm in 1983 and is certified as an Accredited Tax Preparer by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation. Melanie is a member of the National Society of Accountants and has spent the majority of her career as an Individual Tax specialist. In 1996 Melanie became the firm's first cyber-accountant when her husband was transferred to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The Walhalla, SC native is married to James D. Williams, Jr. They are the parents of two college aged sons, Townley and Daniel, and live in Rockbridge County, Virginia . Melanie is an active member of Lexington Baptist Church where she serves as treasurer.

Nancy Grimm and her husband, David, moved to Rock Hill in 2004. She started working part-time as an office assistant with the firm in 2005. She has three grown children and two grandchildren. She is active in the York County Newcomer's Club and St. Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Hill.
