Firm History
In 2000 the original Partners, which included Robert Jensen, Jeff Jones, and Frank Hunt, purchased an accounting firm located in the old Key Bank Tower at 50 West Main Street in Downtown Salt Lake City.

The Partners decided that because all last names began with J and H that they would re-name the firm JH & Associates.  However in April of 2000 when they tried to register the firm, JH & Associates was already taken so that is how the firm became HJ & Associates. firm\ H&Associates,

With the purchase of the firm, HJ & Associates retained the independently owned membership in the RSM McGladrey Network, which is now the McGladrey Alliance.  The firm has been a member for over a decade.

In December of 2001 Chuck Roe, who had been consulting on work for the firm for a while, joined the firm.

In 2006 the firm was notified that the old Key Bank Tower would be torn down and they would need to move.  In January 2007 the firm relocated  to the current 50 West Broadway location.

In 2008 an agreement was reached between Kartchner and Purser, P.C. and HJ & Associates, LLC and in October of 2008 the firms merged.  With the merger, Bruce Kartchner and Kelly Purser became Partners of the firm.

Frank Hunt officially retired in May of 2010.  However, he can still be seen wandering the halls on occasion.
