Greg D. Bleazard, CPA
Manager
Greg Bleazard joined the firm in 2004 and serves both private and public clients in a variety of different
industries including healthcare, construction, renewable energy, software development, oil and gas, retail,
entertainment, development stage and nonprofit entities. In addition to his audit responsibilities, Greg
also coordinates all of the firm’s recruiting efforts. Greg regularly serves as a guest lecturer and speaker
to university classes and clubs throughout Utah.
Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of
Certified Public Accountants. He has served as Vice President and President of the Downtown Chapter
of the UACPA.
Steve Checketts, CPA.CITP
Manager
Steve Checketts has been with HJ & Associates since 2005 and is currently an Audit Manager. He joined
the firm after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and worked full-time at HJ
as he obtained his Master’s Degree from the University of Utah. Steve has progressed in his career
at the firm from staff to senior and recently joined the Manager group.
Steve has demonstrated a knack for technology and has obtained a Certified Information Technology
Professional designation to go along with his CPA license. With these skills he plays a large role in the firm’s
IT function. He has exceptional training skills that help each auditor become more efficient and successful
in progressing at HJ.
Steve is a hard worker and dedicates many hours to his work in the office while still maintaining a great
balance between work and home life. He enjoys spending his down time with his wife and children. He was
married in 2001 and now has 4 beautiful children that are the pride and joy of his life. He enjoys watching his
favorite sporting events and is a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. He would like to someday travel to the British
Isles and learn more about English history.
Jayme L. McWidener, CPA
Manager
Jayme McWidener joined the firm in 2004 as a member of our Audit Staff. She was a member of Beta Alpha
Psi while attending Drake University and on the Dean’s List with Honors.
Jayme graduated in 2001 from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a
double major in Accounting and Management and in 2003 from Drake University with a Master of Business
Administration. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA).
Jayme enjoys softball, snowboarding and riding her motorcycle.
John D. Shreck, CPA
Director
John Shreck joined the firm in 2006 as a member of our Audit Staff. He left the firm in 2010 for two years
to further his education. John rejoined the firm in 2012 as a member of our Tax Staff. He received a
special award for outstanding achievement on the Uniform CPA Examination by the Texas State Board of
Public Accountancy.
John graduated in 2002 from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a
double major in Finance and Economics and in 2012 from the University of Utah with a Master of Business
Administration with an emphasis in Finance, Tax and Operations. He is a Certified Public Accountant and
is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association
of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA).
John enjoys traveling, backpacking, scuba diving, skiing, running and soccer.
